The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) has just revealed its thrilling and complete lineup for 2023, featuring a groundbreaking collaboration with the iconic Rijksmuseum and renowned DJ upsammy. The Official Opening Event, titled “Breathe, Walk, Die,” promises an extraordinary blend of art and music. Set in the Rijksmuseum’s bicycle passage, this one-of-a-kind performance takes attendees on a journey from birth to death through themes like fear, lust, and ambition. With DJ upsammy’s music, percussionist Valentina Magaletti’s live sounds, and designer Theun Mosk’s visual interpretation, it’s set to be a central highlight of ADE 2023.
This collaboration isn’t just a fusion of creativity; it signifies ADE’s and Rijksmuseum’s commitment to merging diverse art forms. “Breathe, Walk, Die” encapsulates the exhibition at the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, bringing it to life in a captivating three-act theatrical performance. This venture highlights ADE’s shift towards becoming a broader artistic platform, showcasing the cultural richness of electronic music.
Jan-Willem van de Ven, ADE’s Director, expressed immense pride in this initiative, emphasizing electronic music’s positive impact on cultural heritage. Hendrikje Crebolder, Rijksmuseum’s Director of Development and Media, welcomed a new audience to experience this unique collaboration, thanks to their partnership with ADE and Heineken.
In addition to this groundbreaking event, ADE’s festival program boasts a diverse lineup including program with over 2,900 artists, artists will electrify the ADE stages, promising unforgettable performances.
